We stayed in the Eco Lodge for a night. The location is magnificent, your view is towards woods and a tiny stream, lots of wildlife to be seen if you are quiet enough. The lodge itself is a type of wooden glamping tent, equipped with a basic kitchen set for cooking (no water) and a bed. Unfortunately there's no way to make a draft through the place (the only thing that opens is the door), so it was quite hot, especially after cooking our dinner. The bed was really comfortable.
The welcome was sort of lacking, people spent a lot of time waiting by a closed door because nobody was available to help them, since from what I saw only one person was working (welcoming guests, working the bar, dealing with electricity issues etc etc). I guess they weren't prepared to have as many visitors so early in June.
We have just spent the weekend here.
We wanted somewhere close to home to take my granddaughter for the first time.
Contact with the site and response time was excellant. Réception check in easy and staff very friendly and helpful
The pitches are spacious and there was plenty of room for a camper van and tent.Situated in a tranquil position by the river.
Pool was easily accessible (No children's area for small children)
Fresh bread and pasties each morning on order.
I had read some of the other reviews and have to say I disagree about the toilets and reception area. All sanitary blocks were clean and tidy.
Terrace and bar area relaxing with play areas for kids of all ages plus bouncy castles. We did not eat but the food others had looked delicious.
My only criticism is that perhaps the reception and bar could be open more .I know it is France and the season is July> august (and they open more)however many tourists choose to travel may/ june/september from places such as UK/Germany/Holland.
I spoke to many of these and they all asked why services were limited .It did not bother us as we live in France and are used to it.,I just feel that It would increase income for the site. .
We enjoyed our weekend and will defiantly go back again.
Thankyou
Booked a pitch in advance, arrived 7pm after a day of cycling and there was no one at reception (even though it said it was open). Campsite was very full and we couldn’t find out where our pitch was - the bar staff were unable to help us …
Awful service. It said the reception was opening at 5PM. People were queueing for over 90minutes. Hy husband went down at 6-45 and waited 20mins and then he and a couple of others were told to go away. The lady behind him said it had used a swear word.|Worst behaviour we have ever had at a campsite.
Lovely spot outside Huelgoat. Near the river. Near the forest. Tents, motorhomes, mobile homes. Indoor heated pool. Nice decked eating area. Limited meals. Can order morning bread etc. Play area for kids. Clean showers and toilets. Very …
